Philippine Mars Flying Boat
Disassembly of the JRM-1 Philippine Mars continues on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Lake Pleasant Regional Park in Morristown, Ariz. The aircraft, 1 of 7 built between 1942 and 1947 by the Martin Company, served as a long-range patrol flying boat in World War II and then converted to a fire bomber to help battle forest fires. The rare aircraft was flown to Lake Pleasant in February. It will be moved to the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Ariz., where it will be reassembled. (© 2025 Cindi Christie/Cyanpixel)
