I had been selling my images since I was 15. By the time I was 19 I thought I was pretty good. I got hired on a part time basis to carry stuff for a photographer. So in a sense all I was, was very cheap labor to carry stuff, my ability with a camera was incidental.
I have been a newspaper photographer and photo editor in the San Francisco Bay Area and now live along the Continental Divide in eastern Idaho.
My involvement with digital photojournalism began 1989. After being a student at the first NPPA Electronic Photojournalism Workshop, I joined the faculty and organizers for the
remaining eight years and later the Visual Edge workshop co-sponsored by NPPA and the Poynter Institute.
